Library Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. How do I renew my library items?

You're welcome to call the library about renewing your books/CDs/DVDs/etc., but many library items can also be renewed online by logging in to your account (you'll need to create an account if you don't have one already).

I-Share (ILL or interlibrary loan) books can only be renewed online. If your attempt to renew is unsuccessful, you'll need to return the item by the original due date or risk accumulating overdue fines.

2. How long does it take for an interlibrary loan item from I-Share to arrive?

Most items arrive within 5 business days, weather permitting.

3. If I can't come to Trinity's library, where else can I go?

Members of the Trinity community (students, faculty, and staff) automatically have access to a number of college and university libraries across the state of Illinois. You can use the library facilities and borrow materials directly from any of the libraries on this map. All you'll need is your Trinity ID!

4. Why was my I-Share request for an item rejected?

Some items are never allowed to be checked out or requested through I-Share.

Some college libraries never lend out certain items, such as textbooks, CDs, or DVDs to people who are not students or faculty at that college.

You may have a fine on your account that is resulting in a ban from requesting books.
